Here are some specific tips that will allow one to really come into their own with Titanfall. Of course, as the title states, many of these tips are cheap/weenie hut jr tips. Be sure to check out our other tips too. HERE
When a pilot boards your titan, look down at the ground and crouch. This will trick some players into hopping off of your titan, which lets you boost away and shoot the little guy.
Self Back Scratcher
Another option if a pilot is on you, is to fire a cluster missile at the wall. Crouch and stand next to it. This will do a fair bit of damage to you, but it will also kill the opposing player. Be sure to boost away the moment you see that the enemy pilot has died. This can be applied with the electrical smoke, which will let you kill the player much faster.
Cards That People Will Hate You Over
Combine some of the best burn cards with ideal abilities. If you have a card that grants permanent invisibility, then equip the stim perk. You can use both together to make yourself very hard to kill. The “map hack” and “surveillance” cards are two of the best. When using them, pay attention your minimap. Then, either pop out to kill the stranglers from any group or try to kill other players from a vantage point. You want to play safe, since these cards are not too common. The summon titan cards seem to be the rarest. These should be used at the very start of a match. This allows you heavily swing the game in your teams favor at the start of any match.
Lots of burn cards grant bonus experience. My personal favorite is the “titan salvage” card for Last Titan Standing. You will get double XP on titans and your core ability will charge quickly too. The ones for bonuses on grunts and spectres are not really worth it in my opinion.
Play Against Some Easier Opponents
Thus far, it seems that almost every new player starts out with the campaign. So, try some of these matches to see who you get paired up against. If your team dominates, then stay in the game, since you will be playing against the same people until they quit or the campaign ends. If not, then just move along to a new lobby.
Box Them In
It is extremely effective to use electrical smoke and the cluster missile. This method only requires one, but using them together makes it even better. When you deploy the smoke or the missile, press up against an enemy titan to keep them in the damage. If done correctly, the enemy titan will go down very quickly.
If an enemy auto-titan is on guard mode, make sure you call in your titan right on top of them. This is a great way to clear out the map.
If your team loses, you can stay in your titan until the evac arrives. Then simply eject and land anywhere on the ship to be put inside the aircraft. Of course, if the enemy team blows it up, you are still SOL.
Capture on the Wall
Capturing any dominion point can be dangerous. Grapple onto a wall within range of the capture point. When someone comes to contest the point, they will likely walk right by and be vulnerable to you dropping down next to them. Next, you can give them some love in whatever way you see fit.
Life on the Edge
There are several dominion points that can be captured from unexpected places. Use these to your advantage. The picture below is one these spots. It is at point C on Fracture. You can sit on the edge of the platform looking down on C. Every map has these points
Ten Ton Capture Buddy
Every map has at least one point that can be captured using the titan. Many have two. These are points that will often have the most conflict. So, whenever you get a titan and your team is not in control of one of these points. Call him down and go hunting.
Don’t be Content with Two
If your team has two points, go for the third. There is not a great way to spawn trap in this game, so it is better to prevent them from getting an points. This will often cause the enemy team to split their efforts to every capture point, which makes them very manageable to defeat.
Capture the Flag
Grab n Go
Carrying the flag makes you a target for every opposing player. It is always smart to call in your titan, and have it wait next to the enemy flag. Then, grab the flag, and jump right into your titan. Proceed to haul ass back your base for a quick capture. (Be aware that you cannot capture a flag if the enemy has yours. If this is the case, stay in your titan and play defensively til your team recovers the flag.)
Last Titan Standing
The “super charger” burn card is wonderful for Last Titan Standing, and as long as you don’t die, it can be used round after round. The amped anti-titan weapons also can heavily swing the game in your teams favor.
At the start of a round, quickly grab a turret. At worst, it will be a nice distract to the enemy team.
If you are fighting a titan that is about to be doomed. Lunge forward and melee them as soon as they are doomed. If done quickly enough, it will cancel a nuke or autoeject. If you are a little late and see a nuke charge (glowing white light), boost away. The termination method prevents your titans from getting picked off by weenies scattered around the map.
Lots of these tips may upset some enemy players. Have fun that they are upset. Don’t let someone’s hate-mail affect you.
There are some tips for attrition and pilot hunter, but neither qualify to turn someone into a tricksy hobbit. For attrition, hunt the AI often. This is safely done when you are in your titan. Just run around and hunt away. For pilot hunter, people seem to be a lot more campy, so hunting AI makes you quite vulnerable to an ambush.
Bonus weenie move for making to the bottom: plant tons of ark mines around a building. This is easiest with the infinite mine burn card. Be sure to place two next to each other every time to make sure the pilot dies. You get your ordnance back whenever you go into a titan, so always throw them down before you hop into one.
Also, Luke is the world record holder for the original Smash Bros. break the targets with Pikachu. (quite the claim to fame)
